Skomik PCWS AWS Owner: UW/MATC Site Code: SKO Initial Start Date: 2022-01-26 Installed: 2022-01-26 Latitude: -79.794 S Longitude: 170.452 E Elevation: 54 meters AWS Model: MATC Notes: Skomik PCWS is named after an island that Ed Mikolajczyk (David Mikolajczyk’s dad) and his late best friend Mark Skogseth often visited. They named it “Skomik Island” and is a combination of the beginning of their last names. Skomik PCWS is a Polar Climate and Weather Station, developed as part of a collaborating project between Madison College and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It is collocated with Schwerdtfeger AWS and a Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) AWS.	1 Photo
